사방으로 퍼지는 omni directional 스피커들의 경우 귀에 도달하는 음파가 여러경로로 존재하게 된다고 합니다. 이런 이유(?)로 방의 넓은 공간에서 좋은 음장을 가지게 된다 카는데.. 반사된 음이라 하더라도 먼저 오는 넘과 반사되 오는 넘이 혼재하여 포커스가 흐리게 될거 같은데 실제로는 그렇지 않습니다. 이런 것을 Haas Effect라고 하더군요

The Haas effect is a psychoacoustic effect, also known as the Precedence Effect or law of the first wave front. A listener hears two identical sounds (i.e. identical soundwaves of the same intensity) from two sources: A and B. The sound created at source A, which is closer to the listener than source B, arrives first. To the listener, this creates the impression that A is the only source of the sound. This effect occurs for only 40 milliseconds.

The Haas effect is often used in audio matrix decoders in surround sound technologies, such as Dolby Pro Logic. In PA (Public Address) systems, it can be used to ensure that the direction of the original signal (localization) is heard unchanged, when the amplified signal is delayed around 20 milliseconds. The level of that delayed signal may be up to 10 dB higher than the direct signal at the ears of the listener without disturbing the localization.

Named after Helmut Haas who described the effect in his doctoral dissertation "Über den Einfluss eines Einfachechos auf die Hörsamkeit von Sprache" to the University of Gottingen, Germany. An English translation was published in December, 1949.

하스이펙트는 음향심리학적인 효과로, 사람이 같은 신호(같은음파/음압)를 2군데 이상의 소스(A, B)에서 올 경우 더 가까운 경우 A소스만 들리는 것처럼 인식되고 이 효과는 약 40 mili second 동안 있다...

돌비 프로로직 등의 다채널기기 또는 PA에도 쓰인다. 예를 들어 증폭된 신호를 20milisecond 정도 딜레이 시키면 주음향의 방향인식에  영향을주지 않고도 음압을 높힐수 있다....

그러니까..무지향성 스피커를 방에 대충 설치해도 그 무지향성으로 인해 방의 어디에선가 반사되어 가장 먼저 귀에 오는 신호가 존재하고, 귀는 가장  먼저 도착하는 넘을 인식한다..그래서 오히려 또렷하게들린다고함...저의 경험에 이런것이 신기하였는데 이런것이구만요...실제로는 stereo sweet spot은 따로 존재하지 않고 방전체가 소리로 가득찬 느낌이 듭니다.
